Greetings from a small island a trench away from Johor.^^

Ah well, work officially starts on the coming Friday. But then, I‘m still worried about my EP (Employment Pass). Sigh… hopefully it gets through a.s.a.p. Otherwise, I’ll have to go out and come in again. My visitor pass only allows me to stay for 14 days. Without the EP, I can’t even work!

I’ve had a few more observations last Friday and Sunday. The Trinity Guildhall exams were near, so I had the privilege to sit in and observe how mock exams were conducted. The syllabus was quite the same with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. However, students were given the priority to choose from viva voce (oral test) or one piece to be performed in memory. For higher grades, scales can be substituted with a study or etude.

So far, I’ve met all my students who I will take over starting in November. Most of them were still manageable. One or two were active and reluctant to practice. Whatever their attitude, the most important factor is I do my job seriously. So….wish me luck.^^

Sigh….me and my siblings are forced to move because the owner wanted it for other reasons. Well, too bad. We really love this place. It’s windy and it’s NOT a corridor unit. Imagine how it is having people peek into your windows if you have a corridor unit. But then it will be very hot and stuffy if you close all the windows or draw the curtains. Just last night, me and my brother walked past all those corridor units and saw a half naked man cooking in the kitchen. >.<

I SINCERELY hope that we will not be forced to take a corridor unit.

Living standards in Singapore are much higher. Food is higher. However it has a much larger market. There’s a lot more stuff here than Malaysia, especially Japanese stuff. Japanese food, mangas, animes, souvenirs, etc. There seems to be a lot of shopping complexes, too. (Especially the area around my office) Hopefully I don’t get too carried away. *gulp*

Aaaargh! I hate myself! I forgot to bring my games DVD as well as my hand-phone cable installation CD. So sorry guys, I’ll have to upload the photos much later. =P
