My sister brought her colleague, a Thai over to our tiny-insy-winsy apartment. So I thought maybe I’d cook some dishes. I very seldom cook, so this came as a surprise for my sister. Moreover, It’s something I’ve never made before, Mom’s specialty Long-bean porridge.
That morning I went with my sister to her work place area for breakfast. Then after we parted I shopped around the nearby supermarket. Along the way I called up mom and asked for details of the raw materials.
Then as I was walking I came across this toy auto-vendor machine. Out of curiosity I plopped in one coin and turned the knob. PLOP! And out rolled a plastic ball with a cute little Slime keychain. (For those who don’t know, it’s a character from an internet game Maple Story.) I don’t play the game, but I find this little green thing quite adorable. TEE-HEE!
BACK TO THE MAIN STORY. Unfortunately I started cooking quite late. By the time sis and her friend came home I was still steaming the egg. But it was still fast. After a few minutes then it was MEALTIME! But still………….The egg was not stirred well enough so that the egg whites and yolks blended; the minced pork underneath the steamed egg was tasteless; the baby spinach was a bit overcooked; and even the main porridge turned out to be sticky rice, as in black, sticky rice. >.<
I feel gratified because however tasteless this meal was, my sis and her friend still ate it up. I’m so sorry to put you guys through this. *sob*
