My mom came over for a week. So besides being able to eat home-cooked food(yum-yum) , she also did a bit of laundry for us. Well, as most Singaporeans live in flats, the clothes seldom get sunlight. This leaves a kind of smell on the clothes. We can’t leave them out to dry during weekdays either, because nobody’s home to take them in when it rains. As fastidious as she is, she hangs them up all over the house, front and back to get the most out of the little sunlight we get. Coincidentally, our washing machine was spoiled.
Thanks to my sister who put the plastic sheeted carpet into the washing machine, the thing is now jammed up with million bits of plastic. The water won’t drain. Deprived of the machine, all our clothes piled up. I guess my mom couldn’t stand it and decided to hand wash them for us. =P
We DID call the mechanics eventually, and got a scolding. “What? Use washing machine for a carpet? Why not just hop in for a shower since you’re so lazy!” *sob*
