When I was younger, traveling back to Taiwan was a grueling 8-9 hour journey. First, the plane takes 4 hours, which, is still bearable because they offer us movies. Then, once we arrive in Taipei, it takes another 5 hours drive to reach Chiayi province in central Taiwan. But still, for some reasons, the planes leaving from Malaysia for Taiwan always takes off around 3pm. That means we land at approximately 7pm. After a 5-hour car ride, we arrive home 12am. I would be SO weary that I would gladly hop into bed without shower or brushing my teeth. (Fortunately I still do those hygiene routines.)
Now, with Taiwan’s new High Speed Rail, we can reach our destination much faster. Once we got out of the terminal we went for the shuttle bus. At NT20 per person, we could reach the nearest high speed rail station in 30 minutes. Then a train ticket from Taipei to Chiayi costs NT380. Me and my sister bought ourselves Moss burgers and ate on the train as dinner. With a speed as fast as 380km/h, its no surprise we reach Chiayi within an hour.^^
Here I am, sweating under a hot summer day in Putzi, Mom’s hometown. After one whole day your skin just feels sticky, even after a shower. I was forced to blow-dry my hair so that I could tie it up and escape the heat as soon as possible. Right now, as I’m typing away this entry I’m am so grateful to the fan on my right. Bedtime shall not be troublesome since there’s air conditioner. *thank god*
Right now my holiday seems to suck, because I caught flu a few days back. Right now it changed to a mild flu to coughing up phlegm. It totally blew up my wish to taste Taiwan snacks and pearl tea. *sniff* I had to take warm ones instead, so I chose green tea with milk. Every now and then I keep soothing myself that I’m having healthier food and I can wait for a few more days. Yes. I can definitely WAIT. Just like when I’m also waiting for my sister to finish the Harry Potter book now. *sigh*
